Campaign's Final Reflection (3/5/14)

Campaign's Final Reflection

is a great online program which allows exchange students to create a social media for social change campaign for their home countries. We have to pick a specific problem/issue in our home country and create and discuss about it in the social media platforms including Blogger, Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. My specific issue in my home country, Malaysia is the high level of crimes. My title for the campaign is  Displaying photo2.jpg

Blogger - I used my blog to talk about the recent news that is happening around Malaysia using the Google Alerts. I updated my blog with the latest news along with the completion of every GNML session. Blogger has been a very big part in campaigning on my social issue. Whenever I created a new social media platform for my campaign, I shared it here. :) Displaying photo1.jpg

Twitter - I created an account in Twitter for my campaign. With every GNML session, I will go into Twitter and read each tweet with the GNMLph hashtag (#GNMLph). I retweeted many tweets that I liked and that talked about their own social issue campaign which were very interesting. I tweeted and shared my other new social media platforms. :) Displaying photo3.jpg

YouTube - I created a video with the title of Let's Advocate for Fewer Crimes in Malaysia and it has 89 views now. I am very happy about it. I got to share many information based on my campaign, and I also asked the viewers to follow me on the social media platforms that I created to support me further. My parents also helped me in sharing my video and I got good comments from my relatives and friends back home. :) Displaying photo5.jpg

Facebook - I created a page in Facebook with the title of my campaign, and it has 46 likes now. I posted some quotes and pictures on peace because peace relates to my social issue campaign. I hope people will read that and understand the significance of peace and the importance of peace over selfishness. :) Displaying photo2.jpg

Instagram - I created an account for my social issue campaign. I posted a picture that I took in Boston which shows a calm and peaceful surrounding in the city. I posted a quote by Leroy Eimes on the importance of a peaceful environment and an explanation along with the picture. I posted another picture of my LinkedIn profile, and I asked the Instagram'ers to follow me on LinkedIn and to support my campaign. :) Displaying photo4.jpg

LinkedIn - I created my LinkedIn profile for the purpose of my social issue campaign. I created an account today and I hope I will get to connect with many professionals relating to my campaign. I hope I will get to learn more about LinkedIn. I enjoyed creating a LinkedIn account and completing my resume, and sharing it on other social media platforms. :) Displaying photo1.jpg

Rising crime chases family away from their home (3/5/14)

Rising crime chases family away from their home

A Malaysian student Yeo Kee Jun explains in The Malaysian Insider newspaper why his family decided to move out of their family home. According to the Malaysian Insider, Yeo said his home got broken into six times in the last 12 years and the last three times occurred in a period of four months. This is really very scary. This happened to my family too and that is why we moved from Kapar to Klang area. Now, my family and I are living in Ambang Botanic which is fully guarded and gated residential area. It is one of the safest residential area in Klang. I still remember when we were living in Kapar, we could not sleep peacefully every night because whenever we wake up in the morning, we hear at least one case of violence and crime in that Kapar area. Thanks to the Lord for showing us Ambang Botanic and now, we can sleep peacefully in that area. :)  For more information on the security at Ambang Botanic, go to : http://ambangbotanic.com/security-in-ambang-botanic-2/
